Two armed Palestinians were killed Wednesday in an exchange of fire with Israeli forces near the West Bank town of Ramallah early Wednesday, a Palestinian security official told AFP.
Nine other Palestinians were injured during the gunbattle in Beitunia, west of Ramallah.
The clash erupted as Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak headed to Paris for talks with US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in a bid to halt days of deadline Israeli-Palestinian violence.
It brought to 65 the number of people, mainly Palestinians but also including Israeli Arabs, killed in fierce fighting with Israeli forces since Friday -- RAMALLAH, West Bank (AFP)
