U21Global, the premium online Graduate School, announced today the appointment of Bilal Sabouni as a Manager of Recruitment for the GCC.

Based in the university’s regional office in Knowledge Village, Sabouni will be responsible for managing the entire recruitment activities and ensuring that optimum support is provided to applicants and students throughout the application process. Also, to further increase the graduate school’s awareness at the corporate level, Sabouni will be actively developing partnerships with key educational solutions providers across the GCC.

Commenting on Sabouni’s appointment, Vikram Tah, Director, Middle East and Africa, U21Global said, “Bilal’s wide breadth of knowledge and proven expertise will complement U21Global’s aggressive strategy and is in line with the other accomplishments that the graduate school has achieved over the last year in the Middle East. His past experience has enabled him to understand and articulate how our educational paradigm sharpens the students’ analytical capabilities by teaching them problem-solving skills and concepts that they could apply to their professional and personal lives.”

“By providing a holistic learning environment where learning is acquired through opportunities for reflection and active construction of knowledge, our students are connected to a global learning community and are equipped with relevant knowledge that is meaningful and focused. Students will be able to retain such knowledge longer and more importantly apply this knowledge to real-life situations. U21Global’s professors adopt the role of ‘guide-on-the-side’; acting as facilitator, mentor or advisor rather than teacher, lecturer or instructor.” Tah added.

“I am delighted to be working with the Dubai team to enable U21Global achieve its full potential as a world class graduate school that is redefining education and learning by offering quality and flexible online graduate programs that encourages deep and independent learning,” said Bilal Sabouni.

Sabouni has developed strong credentials from working at a U21Global partner, Leading Concepts, where he spent more than two years, as Head of Department.  This involved managing all operations pertaining to elearning including introducing the U21Global portfolio of programs to corporates and individuals. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from the American University in Dubai.

Sabouni’s appointment complements U21Global’s other significant accomplishments that took place in 2005.  Highlights include receiving the prestigious European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Certification of e-Learning (CEL) and the launch of two new programs – a Master of Science in Information Systems Management and a Master of Science in Tourism and Travel Management.  The graduate school also celebrated its second year anniversary in 2005 with the announcement of a 1000-student milestone achievement.
