The United Arab Emirates has asked Lebanon for the extradition of an Iraqi-born British businessman wanted for extortion of 240 million dollars, judicial sources in Beirut said Tuesday.
The man, identified as Hamdi Rahme, was questioned by a Lebanese examining magistrate, the sources said, according to AFP. Lebanon's prosecutor general, Adnan Addum, is studying the extradition request which accuses Rahme of extorting 240 million dollars from Ajman ruler Humaid bin Rashid al-Nuaimi. (Albawaba.com)
