The Summit on the Global Agenda to be held in Dubai from November 29 to December 1, 2010 presents a unique opportunity for social, political and business leaders across the world to benchmark key developmental issues against global realities, according to His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy.

Mr Al Mansouri and His Excellency Sami Dhaen Al Qamzi, Director General of the Dubai Economic Department, will co-chair the Summit with André Schneider, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Economic Forum.

"The UAE is honoured to host the world's foremost minds who will meet at the Summit in Dubai to discuss compelling global issues that have far-reaching consequences for the whole of humanity. By setting the platform for these powerful interactive sessions, the UAE is excited to encourage further dialogue for global prosperity," Mr Al Mansouri said.

"In line with the directions of our leadership, we aim to make the best use of this global event by bringing into discussions some of the most important topics that concern the UAE and other countries of the region as this will enrich the debate and contribute to finding solutions for various global issues," added Mr Al Mansouri.

During the three-day Summit, more than 700 global leaders from academia, business, government and society will engage in interactive workshops to set priorities to improve the state of the world and identify the latest trends, risks and innovative solutions to address the world's challenges.

The outcomes of the Summit will be integrated into the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2011 in Davos-Klosters for further discussion and action.

Al Mansouri pointed that UAE is currently witnessing a remarkable growth in vital economic sectors such as tourism, aviation, hospitality, transport and logistics. He stressed that the advanced infrastructure is promoting the development of a knowledge based economy and helping to achieve sustainable development in many sectors.

The Summit on the Global Agenda will discuss over 70 topics including education, humanitarian assistance, institution building, climate change, transportation, sustainable energy, healthcare, food security, water security, migration, poverty and social entrepreneurship, among others.
