His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Palestinian Prime Minister Dr Rami Hamdallah and the delegation accompanying him.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, attended the meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed and the Palestinian guest reviewed the ongoing developments in the Palestinian territories, especially the situation regarding the humanitarian conditions in which the Palestinian people are living and the designs of the Zionist elements regarding the Al Aqsa Mosque that has witnessed attempts at vandalism.

In this context, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem and the Al Aqsa Mosque, affirming the right of the sisterly Palestinian people to life and legitimate rights guaranteed by international laws and the United Nations.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed that the UAE’s leadership, government and people stand beside the Palestinian people and extend a helping hand to them, so as to enable them to protect the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem and other Palestinian areas.

Dr Rami extended thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Mohammed and to the UAE’s wise leadership for its keen interest to provide support and care to Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque and the people of the Palestine in general and their just cause.

Dr Rami expressed, on behalf of the Palestinian leadership and people, his great appreciation for the UAE’s humanitarian assistance and stance over the last ten years, and praised the UAE’s participation in building hospitals, mosques and houses, as well as infrastructure. As a result of this help, the UAE ranks at the top among Arab and other international countries in providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinians. This has helped them in continuing to hold fast to their land and face all forms of pressures to displace them, that the current Israeli government brought upon them.
