Universal Air Travel Plan, Inc. (UATP) announced today that all UATP cards are now accepted online at qatarairways.com. Corporate clients may now utilize the airline's web site for the purchase of airline tickets with UATP cards.
"Staying current with technology and allowing our corporate client base to purchase tickets online for ease of planning is imperative in this economic climate," said Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker. "The demand for UATP acceptance and an increase in online direct sales by corporate clients convinced Qatar Airways to expand UATP acceptance to qatarairways.com."
Qatar Airways is the national airline of the State of Qatar and is one of the aviation industry's success stories, an award-winning airline and one of the fastest growing carriers in the world.
"Providing all available channels for ticket purchases is imperative for corporate clients and ease-of-use for their business travel," said UATP President and CEO, Ralph Kaiser. "With online acceptance, corporate clients will be able to easily and conveniently purchase Qatar Airways tickets with their UATP accounts at any time and focus on business at hand."
Qatar Airways will operate a fleet of 120 aircraft by 2013, by which time it will fly to 120 key leisure and business destinations worldwide. Qatar Airways has aircraft orders for more than 220 jets worth over US$40 billion and is one of the customers of the twin-deck Airbus A380 'super jumbos' with five on order and scheduled for delivery from 2012, by which time the New Doha International Airport would have opened.
