ALBAWABA - Russian authorities announced foiling "a coordinated Ukrainian attack on Crimea" earlier on Sunday, while other Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow, disrupting air traffic in the capital, and causing a fire at an oil depot in the southwest of the country.

Andrei Klychkov, governor of the Oryol region, said on Telegram: "There are no casualties, all emergency services are working on the territory of the facility,".

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram that in the Moscow region, a drone was destroyed over the Istra district and another over the Ramensky district, adding there were no casualties or damage from drone debris.

Ukraine has initiated a series of strikes on Russian military sites in the Crimean peninsula, as well as the facilities of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet, in an effort to weaken Moscow's war efforts in the critical region.

The mayor of Moscow reported that at least two drones were shot down in the capital region early on Sunday, deep within Russia, far away from the battle lines, attacks have also witnessed a sharp increase in numbers.

Two Ukrainian drones were also destroyed at 1:15 a.m. over the west coast of Crimea, with another four drones detected and destroyed over the peninsula between 1:45 to 2:20 a.m., according to the ministry, AFP reported.

Since Ukraine launched its counteroffensive in early June, Russia has weathered waves of drone attacks that have sporadically damaged buildings, including in the capital.

In an opinion piece published late Saturday, Ukraine's Security Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov urged Kyiv's partners to speed up the delivery of weapons, claiming that this was the only way to end the war.

"For example, the complete or partial elimination of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which is a doable task, should significantly accelerate the process of Russia's search for a way out of the ongoing war," Danilov wrote on the Ukrainska Pravda news site.

Russian state news agencies said at least 30 flights were delayed and six canceled at Moscow's major airports, a common tactic executed by aviation authorities during drone attacks.
