ALBAWABA - Following the latest evacuation orders in Deir Al Balah, a United Nations official stated that the UN has been forced to halt its aid distribution operations in Gaza.

Louise Wateridge, senior communications officer at UNRWA in Gaza briefed reporters and stated that the UN is "unable to deliver today with the conditions that we’re in,".

Wateridge pointed out that following Israel's order in May to evacuate Rafah in southern Gaza, the UN moved its primary command operations for the Gaza Strip and the majority of its personnel to Deir el-Balah.

However, spokesperson Stephane Dujarric continued that they are "not leaving Gaza because the people need us there. We’re trying to balance the need of the population with the need for safety and security of the UN personnel,".

Dujarric explained that the United Nations agency responsible for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, is able to function because it has become embedded in the community, and the official's description of the problem is the distribution of aid across the Palestinian enclave.

"What we’re talking about is UNRWA being embedded in places. So if they are there and they’re able to help, they will help and will distribute. [But] we [other UN agencies] are not able to move people from point A to point B. We’re not able to go find people," Dujarric added.

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army ordered the Palestinians to evacuate an area east of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, near the only functioning hospital in Central Gaza, which was once flagged as a "humanitarian zone".

Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel

Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.

Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.

In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 40,476+ people, with more than 93,647+ injuries.

Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
