ALBAWABA - According to the Israeli Broadcasting Service, a United Nations staff member has been killed near the European Hospital in Gaza by unknown fire.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a Jordanian national was among those who were riding in the targeted vehicle, and has reportedly sustained serious injuries.
Sufian Al-Qudah, the Ministry's spokesperson, stressed the need to protect United Nations staff and relief workers who serve a critical humanitarian role for Palestinians amidst the region's unparalleled humanitarian crisis.
He held Israel accountable for this as the occupying power, as well as for its ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, according to the statement.
It was later revealed that the UN staff member is in fact a WHO active field member in Gaza. She was injured in an Israeli strike along with her driver who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on their vehicle in Rafah, south of Gaza.
