Union National Bank has announced that it is in the right track of meeting the Emiritization annual percentage set by the Central Bank, and is continuously looking to increase its national workforce.
To reach its objective, UNB has sponsored numerous initiatives and events that focus on recruitment and selection of national fresh graduates seeking employment, the latest of which is ‘Tawdheef 2007’, Abu Dhabi first recruitment show, held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.
“We are delighted to be one of the main sponsor of the Abu Dhabi Recruitment Show, Tawdheef, which gives us the means to directly access the nation’s future workforce. Throughout the past years, UNB has shown its commitment to attracting the young national graduates and professionally developing them to become efficient and productive contributors to the UAE’s growing economy,” commented Mr Abdullah Alrashedi SVP & Head of Reseourcing & Emiritization Division at UNB
During the course of the Exhibition, UNB focused on attracting the large number of graduates who are currently searching for top quality organizations to start their career and introduced them to the local banking industry in general and UNB’s operations in specific. Graduates also learned about the requirements and criteria needed to land a job in that area.
During 2006, UNB has successfully recruited national graduates with a percentage exceeding 6.5% of its total work force. UNB is keen on doubling its national employees by year end as well as enrolling them in rigorous training programs to develop them in the field of banking and finance and to prepare them for the challenges they may face on the job. There are lots of job opportunities within UNB as it is currently expanding and this is considered a great opportunity for nationals seeking a career in the financial sector.
“UNB has continuously taken an active role in local career exhibitions that promote Emiritization, and this year’s “Tawdheef” is no exception. Our proactive position has only strengthened the bank and has helped it continue its successful development”. Commented Alrashedi
