Over 90 students from the country’s various universities, were spellbound by outstanding works of art and an exquisite display of jewellery, when they visited the Christie’s International Art Exhibition at the Emirates Towers recently. The visit was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, in cooperation with the House of Christie’s.
The tour was a pioneering initiative of the Ministry intended to create a greater appreciation of arts and culture among the students and to encourage them to develop their creative side.
House of Christie’s Arts Specialist, Hala Al Khayat, introduced the students to the various exhibits and gave them a backgrounder on the artists involved. The exhibition included some of Christie’s best known collections, which will feature in upcoming heritage and contemporary art auctions.
Jewellery Spcialist Lin Qaddura, then introduced the students to the unique collection of jewellery and watches from Christie’s auctions in New York, Geneva and Hong Kong.
