Jordan's government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said on Thursday that Jordan will only consider releasing the Iraqi prisoner Sajida al-Rashawi in exchange for Jordanian Air Force pilot Mu'ath al-Kasasbeh if Daesh provides proof that al-Kasasbeh is still alive, reports Reuters.
Spokesman al-Momani also told journalists that the Jordanian and Japanese governments are coordinating to secure the release of both al-Kasasbeh and Japanese hostage Kenji Goto, a veteran journalist also being held by Daesh.
The deadline given by Daesh for Jordan to release al-Rashawi is quickly drawing to an end.
Daesh released an audio recording earlier today demanding al-Rashawi be brought to the Turkish border by sunset Thursday.
