A 19-year-old Palestinian who was shot earlier on Wednesday after stabbing an Israeli soldier has died from his injuries, Palestinian officials said.
The Palestinian liaison office told Ma'an that Muhammad Ismail Shubaki, a student at the Palestine Technical College near al-Arrub refugee camp, died hours after being shot and injured after stabbing an Israeli soldier near the al-Fawwar refugee camp.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health told Ma’an that Shubaki was shot on scene and evacuated to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition.
Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom said the Israeli, 20, was left in severe condition and transferred to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Israeli media reported that Shubaki exited his vehicle south of Hebron and stabbed an Israeli soldier before being shot.
At least 93 Palestinians have been killed by Israelis since the beginning of October. While Israel alleged many of those were attempting to attack Israelis when they were shot, Palestinians and rights groups have disputed Israel's version of events in a number of cases.
The attacks that have taken place -- claiming the lives of 19 Israelis -- have been accompanied by a wave of popular unrest that has swept the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel.
