US House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi will lead a Democratic delegation to Israel and Jordan.

The California representative made the announcement in regard to the visit, set to start Saturday.

Joined by no Republicans, the trip was said to be about "global and regional security and cooperation issues."

“Our delegation is pleased to be able to extend the congratulations of the American people to the people of Israel as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Jewish state this spring,” Pelosi said in the statement.

She will be accompanied by 10 House Democrats, including Adam Schiff of California, Jim Himes of Connecticut, members on the House Intelligence Committee.

US President Donald Trump has recognized Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime despite international condemnation.

One of the parties objecting to measure is Jordan, where the House representative will visit.

“In Jordan, our delegation travels at a vital time in the U.S. relationship with this key ally,” Pelosi said. “Members are particularly interested in reviewing the Syrian refugee and humanitarian challenges as well as addressing other critical challenges facing the region.”

The trip comes amid a two-week recess on the occasions of Easter and Passover, when lawmakers usually travel together.

Hailed as a “great friend to the Jewish people” by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump has mended ties with Israel that had gone sour under his predecessor, Barrack Obama.

The Israeli regime, meanwhile, keeps taking expansionist measures in Palestine while getting engaged in atrocities against the Muslim nation.
