Authorities said at least three people have been shot at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. According to the AP, police spokeswoman Traci Hughes conveyed a person walked into the museum with a rifle and shot a guard. According to Hughes, the attacker was also shot. The victims' conditions were not known. Both were being taken to a hospital.
According to the Museum website, since its dedication in 1993, the Museum has welcomed nearly 30 million visitors, including more than 8 million school children and 85 heads of state. Today 90 percent of the Museum’s visitors are not Jewish. It is located in 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place, SW Washington, DC 20024-2126
