US-led coalition pounds Daesh in Ramadi 19 times in 72 hours

The US-led coalition against Daesh claims to have conducted 19 airstrikes against the militants in Ramadi over the last 72 hours, Reuters reports.

A spokesman for the coalition told media, "the Coalition increased its support in Ramadi today, in order to fulfill all requests of the Iraqi security forces."

Shiite militiamen and Iraqi military forces are preparing a ground attack against Daesh in Ramadi. 

On Sunday Daesh claimed to have taken full control of the Iraqi city Ramadi. The announcement came after days of bloody clashes Anbar province’s capital city, located west of Baghdad. 

Daesh’s capture of Ramadi represents its biggest victory since in took control of Nineveh province’s Mosul in June 2014.
