President of the American Muslim Youth Congress Khalid Al Ahmed has called upon Arab Muslims to stop blaming the United States and Israel for the deteriorating situation in the Middle East region, and instead start playing an active role in the struggle for Palestine.

In an interview with Khaleej Times, Al Ahmed said Israel had a very strong relationship with the Jewish community in America.

"They have powerful lobbies and they donate money to members of the House of Representatives and the Senate."

He believes that Muslims can contain the growing influence of the Jewish lobbies in America by strengthening their presence inside the US federal institutions.

The activists called on the oil-rich Gulf states to supports Muslim organizations in the states.

"The Gulf countries have to play a role in supporting the establishment of Muslim lobbies inside America. Besides, they can use their oil as a weapon to pressurize the United States to make Israel abide by United Nations' resolutions concerning the rights of the Palestinian people in occupied territories," Al Ahmed said.

Visiting the UAE at the invitation of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Auqaf, Al Ahmed will also tour other Gulf countries to solicit support for promoting a number of educational and cultural programs for American Muslim children and for enhance cooperation with Gulf universities in order to provide educational opportunities to American Muslims, according to the daily – Albawaba.com
