This movie, based on a true story in 1971, follows the life of coach Herman Boone, Denzel Washington, the newly appointed coach of the recently integrated TC Williams High School football team, The Titans.

His mission is to create a winning team out of a group of boys divided by racial prejudice and intolerance. Having been given the position over coach, Bill Yoast, played by Will Patton, who had several years' seniority and the support of the town, Coach Boone finds himself in the middle of a very hostile situation.

The charismatic but tough Boone decides to take the players on a two-week boot camp far away from the biases of the town. Here he drills them on both the rigors of football and need for team unity, by forcing them to live and work together.

His unconventional strategies begin to make a difference in the team. However, the harmony is soon challenged, when the players return to school only to find the town violently torn apart by integration.

The Titans then find that they must struggle to win the championship and lead their community towards racial unification.

This Drama is rated PG for thematic elements and some language.

Aside from Washington and Patton, the cast includes Nicole Ari Parker, Kate Bosworth and Jerry Brandt.

The movie was directed by Boaz Yakin, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman and written by Gregory Allen Howard. Buena Vista released it.

Debuting at No.1, this movie took home a nice $21,200,000 in its first week – Albawaba.com.
