ALBAWABA - The U.S. Department of State has imposed sanctions on an individual and three organizations for their alleged support of Houthis in Yemen.

The spokesperson, Matthew Miller, revealed in a written statement that the U.S. took action against those enabling international maritime and other destabilizing attacks by Iran on behalf of the Houthis.

The sanctioned entities, whose identities were not disclosed, are accused of aiding the delivery of millions of dollars to the Houthis under the direction of Said al-Jamal, known for his ties to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force.

The statement underscored the Houthi assaults on global shipping in the Red Sea and the Aden Gulf, causing disruptions to regional trade since October. It explicitly mentioned the Houthis violations of international law, launching numerous missile and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks on commercial ships near the Yemeni coast.

The U.S. emphasized its commitment to continue the fight against Iran's illicit financial support for the Houthis. The international community was urged to take a stand against the disruptive activities of the Houthis and their Iranian supporters, calling for collective efforts to maintain regional stability.
