ALBAWBA - Cameron John Wagenius, a 20-year-old American soldier, has been arrested on suspicion of selling stolen classified telephone information. According to The Verge, the indictment claims that in November, Wagenius sold private information on a number of websites.

Krebs on Security disclosed that Wagenius was in charge of breaking into at least 15 major telecom firms, including AT&T and Verizon, and gaining access to Snowflake data, even if the indictment did not specify the kind of information. Wagenius is charged with masterminding many hacks while using the identity "Kiberphant0m."

Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris's chats were allegedly included in the AT&T phone records that "Kiberphant0m" exposed in November. AT&T acknowledged a significant data breach that targeted user information and was connected to the Snowflake account thefts from the previous year, even though the data's legitimacy has not yet been validated.

According to Krebs on Security, further inquiries uncovered Wagenius's purported role in 2023 in selling access to a significant U.S. military contractor. After the breach, Wagenius, a telecommunications employee at a U.S. military installation in South Korea, was suspected.

Krebs on Security conducted a thorough investigation and determined that "Kiberphant0m" was Wagenius. In an interview, his mother acknowledged her son's affiliation with "Judische," a cybercriminal who is suspected of extorting and stealing data from cloud storage companies like Snowflake.

Unit 221B cybersecurity researcher Allison Nixon played a key role in identifying Wagenius. “It is reckless to threaten to extort the president and vice president as soldiers, but it is even worse to target cybersecurity professionals who expose cybercriminals,” said Nixon, who was harassed by Wagenius and his associates.

Growing worries about insider threats and the improper use of private information at safe institutions are brought to light by this instance. Regarding the entire extent of the accusations, the U.S. government has not yet issued an official declaration.
