Despite the financial crisis, more than 700 students could follow their education at the American University of Beirut in 2008-2009, thanks to need-based scholarships offered by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which is an annual AUB donor.
A group of 30 scholarship recipients will be meeting with USAID Chief of Mission Denise Herbol, who will present a check donation to AUB President Peter Dorman on Monday October 26 at 10 am, in West Hall’s Common Room.
Coming from all Lebanese regions, recipients will highlight the important role such scholarships play in promoting diversity and cultural exchange.
President Dorman will also speak about the importance of scholarships in making quality higher education accessible to a wider range of students.
