Dubai Police expanded its electronic services by introducing the E-police service on the WAP, through which the people will have an access to the data on second-hand cars, to ensure that the vehicle is not stolen or wanted by the police for any reason, Khaleej Times reported.
The e-police afford a good and fast service to the second hand cars’ buyer, as they will check what all complains are registered on the wanted cars.
Captain Ahmed bin Subaih, head of the Specialized Systems Section at Dubai Police's newly-inaugurated Division of Electronic Services was quoted by Dubai-based paper as saying that more police officers and cadres would undergo training on these new services, aimed at providing more facilities for the public.
"Many of the new services, in part, will be general, like stolen car service. Any person subscribing to the WAP service to his or her mobile phone can find out about the car being bought from a (second-hand) car showroom," said the official.
"This service will eliminate the problem faced by people buying cars from unscrupulous traders or individuals selling stolen cars. It will also help police track down stolen cars", he said.
He said the purpose of the stolen car information service is two-fold: it the enables people using this service to know about cars; it also helps police officers and personnel in tracing stolen carsl, it added – Albawaba.com
