ALBAWABA - A shocking video was released today from Minneapolis showing ICE agents shooting a man in the street. The person was identified as Alex Pretti, BBC reported.

Federal immigration officers have shot and killed Alex Pretti, 37, in Minneapolis amid continued protests following the death of Renee Good, who was also shot dead by an immigration agent in the same city.

Renee Good was killed around three weeks ago inside her car after federal officials said she was using her car as a weapon, despite refutations of the claim by authorities in Minnesota.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said that ICE agents fired "defensive shots" after Alex Pretti "reacted violently"; on the other hand, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz rejected Noem's statement, saying that federal authorities are "nonsense" and "lies"

Nonetheless, CNN reported that an unnamed eyewitness who recorded video of the incident confirmed that Alex Pretti was not holding a gun in the moments before he was shot by federal agents.

Multiple clips were shared online showing ICE agents surrounding Alex and putting him on the ground before he was shot dead.

Who is Alex Pretti, the man killed by ICE agents?

Associated Press confirmed that Alex Pretti was an American citizen, born in Illinois. Pretti studied at Preble High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 2006, the Minnesota Star Tribune added.

Alex worked as a "junior scientist" at the University of Minnesota Medical School since 2012, per his LinkedIn profile.

In addition, the Minnesota Star Tribune confirmed that Alex started as a registered nurse in 2021, and his license remains active through March 2026. In addition, the late's family told the AP he was an intensive care nurse at a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital.
