Villeroy & Boch: Showering and taking a bath with design and system –
The successful Subway collection is extended to include a comprehensive line of wellness products

The modern bathroom is a room for living and relaxation, a place where technical innovations play just as important a role as the design, which accentuates the overall atmosphere to create very special effects. Baths and showers in particular are no longer positioned simply as fixed units in the room rather they are increasingly regarded and used as creative design elements. This means that modern shower solutions can be installed flush with the ground, frameless and with transparent doors. Baths are presented in a prominent position or as corner solution. With the introduction of a complete and extremely extensive wellness range comprising baths and showers or bath partitions to complement the successful Subway collection, Villeroy & Boch is launching a product offensive in this important market with new functional solutions, technical and aesthetic refinements and broad scope for individual bathroom planning.

Subway baths – planning scope to meet all design requirements
In the modern, sleek design of the Subway sanitary collection, whose most striking design feature is a straight, broad rim, Villeroy & Boch has developed the existing rectangular baths to create a new, particularly extensive range of acrylic baths. The Subway bath range offers a large selection of sizes, forms and covers that are as comfortable as they are ergonomic. The existing range is now complemented by a new, rectangular 160 x 70 cm bath, a hexagonal 190 x 80 cm bath and by two oval baths in sizes 180 x 80 cm and 190 x 90 cm. The new, 170 x 80 cm offset bath that is tapered at the foot end and available for either right or left-sided installation is a very special problem-solver that comes into its own in small bathrooms where a bath is a must. There are also three corner baths in sizes 130 cm x 130 cm, 140 x 140 cm and 150 x 150 cm. A special highlight in the range: a corner bath without corners in size 140 x 140 cm. This bath is ideal for renovation measures as it can be installed wherever building restrictions, for example, service ducts, do not allow the installation of a conventional corner bath. The Subway bath range now comprises a total of thirteen different models that offer just the right solution for every room layout and to meet all design requirements – and they also offer very good value for money.

Subway frameless shower and bath partitions
The new, frameless Subway shower and bath partitions add the finishing touch to the Subway bathroom concept. The high-quality, real-glass partitions boast a modern and deliberately simple design and are thus eminently suitable for all lifestyles. The flexible and diverse range comprises a total of ten different models: alcove, corner entrance, doors with side panel, doors with short side panel, quadrant, pentagon, bath partitions and a walk-in variant – depending on the model, available in either left or right-side versions. Thanks to the variable wall junction profiles that can compensate for sloping walls by up to 16 mm on each side, the shower partitions can be easily installed without the need for a measuring and fitting service. The fittings are made of brass with either a chrome-plated high-gloss finish or a satin finish. The profiles are available in anodised aluminium in both a matt and high-gloss finish.  The glass is 8 mm thick for straight panels and 6 mm for curved panels and is optionally available with the easy-clean VilboClear finish. The partitions can be installed with shower tray, on tiles or flush with the floor. The height of the shower partitions is 190 cm, the walk-in is 200 cm high and the bath partitions 150 cm.

None of the shower and bath partitions have annoying profiles in the entry area. The doors have flush-fitting revolving door fittings on the inside – a solution that is particularly easy to clean. They open outwards thanks to a raising and lowering mechanism – this is ideal for easy installation of the shower partitions on tiles and, thanks to the transparent magnetic strips, they can be closed with ease and accuracy. All shower and bath partitions are fitted with a continuous, vertical sealing strip between the door segments and with a water deflector that guarantee maximum protection against splashing. The new Subway shower and bath partitions fit a variety of showers and baths from the current Villeroy & Boch range.
Many advantages for the retail and trade sector
With the new Subway wellness products, Villeroy & Boch is not only adding the finishing touch to the Subway bathroom, it is also offering its trade and retail partners a comprehensive selection of baths, shower and bath partitions that they will be able to offer to their customers for all lifestyles. With these new products, the plumber can respond to the customer's individual design wishes, as well as to the specific room layout, and present suitable solutions for either new buildings or renovation work. The concept of a complete product range with a uniform design provides particular support during consultations since the plumber only needs to show and explain one single product and, at the same time, offer the entire portfolio.

The new, easy-care VilboClear surface finish for real glass is a particular selling point, especially for modern customers who attach great importance to practical solutions; Villeroy & Boch offers this finish as an option for the Subway shower and bath partitions. VilboClear is a special finish for single-pane safety glass and is applied directly in the factory. Similarly to the successful Ceramicplus finish from Villeroy & Boch, VilboClear is hydrophobic, i.e. water-repellent. Real glass shower partitions featuring the VilboClear finish are consequently much easier to clean and maintain than conventional glass partitions since it is easier to remove dirt and scale. Cleaning couldn’t be easier: the panels only need to be wiped regularly with clear water and a soft cloth or sponge.
