Visa International has decided to celebrate its 10-year partnership with Disney with the launch of a new promotional campaign in Lebanon featuring one of Disney's most popular releases, Pirates of the Caribbean III. Visa International’s promotional campaign promises a multitude of exciting activities for all Visa cardholders for the duration of between May 15th and June 30th, offering cardholders and moviegoers the chance to win a large number of exciting prizes. The promotion will take place across Lebanon, essentially bringing the Pirates of the Caribbean theme to the entire country.
The primary element of the promotion is a draw that is entered any time a Visa cardholder uses his or her card during the six weeks of the campaign, at any of a number of outlets across the country. These outlets include Virgin Megastores (any of its four locations), Metro Supermarket, St. Elite Supermarket, and Crepaway. The grand prize winners will be chosen by a draw for using their cards for purchases at thousands of outlets throughout Lebanon.
On each Friday during this time period, starting on May 25th, a draw will announce the winners. Awards for this draw include free tickets to the movie, Visa-branded valuable gifts, and a gold coin. The final award is a weekend trip along the Lebanese coast, the winner of which will be announced at an event that will take place on the deck of a boat at the Marina Dbayeh.
Moviegoers who are Visa and Visa Electron cardholders will also get the chance to win a number of gifts, by way of a “Find the Treasure” game. For this competition, 25 envelopes will be hidden under cinema seats. The five winning envelopes will have the Visa logo printed on them, and the holders of these winning envelopes will collect their gifts at a large scale boat-shaped stand at the movie theatre. The announcement of this competition will be played on the screen before the start of the movie.
Mr. Naser Abu Ghazaleh, Regional Manager of Visa Levant, stated, “We at Visa International pride ourselves in being the global leaders in terms of innovation. We would not have reached the position at which we stand had it not been for our premium electronic services, the high global acceptance rates, and the innovative and creative means of introducing our products and services. Our partnership with Disney is bringing Visa cardholders even more added-value to their Visa card usage.”
Mr. Abu Ghazaleh went on to say, “Pirates of the Caribbean III has been received with more enthusiasm even than both parts I and II combined, and this is no small feat. The promotion is in keeping with our constantly wanting to provide the best to our cardholders, which is something that they in turn have come to expect from Visa. This nation-wide campaign is indeed the first of its kind in Lebanon. It aims to bring fun and excitement to every member of the family and community, in addition to offering chances to win lovely prizes. We encourage all Lebanese Visa cardholders to go ahead and use their cards for everyday purchases, in order to increase their chances to win from among the wonderful prizes that we are offering. We also wish everyone the best of luck!”
VISA is doing what it can to ensure that participating merchants have fun during the campaign as well. For the first time, they are conducting a mystery-shopping campaign, where a spy disguised as a shopper will observe salespeople dealing with customers. In the case that a salesperson asks the customer if he or she wants to pay using their Visa card, that merchant will immediately win a prize. A total of 100 cashier winners will receive gift vouchers from Virgin Megastores and KIFI. At the end of the promotion, the 10 merchants who achieve the highest sales using Visa cards at their will receive a home theatre TV from Sony presented by Visa International.
