Tejari, the largest B2B gateway for electronic commerce in the Middle East, has re-engineered its online platform with a host of functionalities and several new features to make this virtual market place an exciting common platform for the company’s dedicated community of about 200,000 members across the world.
The new features incorporated into the re-launched portal include: enhanced virtual showroom functionality and appearance; new search engine; enhanced messaging centre; more flexible and sophisticated business alerts; enhanced search capabilities and a new standardized categorization scheme.
Commenting on the new content and design of the enhanced portal Suhail Al Banna, CEO, Tejari, said:
“The new portal is the reflection of our commitment to delivering the best-in-class service to our customers around the world. We listened to them and have taken their views on board to develop the new content and design. With this new portal, Tejari has developed a tool that can be used as a launch pad to the region for local and international companies. And with this virtual marketplace, we will continue contributing to put Dubai on the map of e-Business.”
Tejari, which launched its operations in 2000, steadily built its popularity on account of its professionalism, service innovation and adaptation of new technology. Home to the largest network of online buyers in the Middle East, Tejari became the most preferred direct access platform for B2B trading by providing a single point of contact for an open and growing community of buyers and suppliers. Its platform permits spot-purchasing and on-line auctions that enable participants’ real-time access to new markets and greater cost savings.
Earlier, some 100,000 transactions worth more than US$ 8 billion have been carried out on the Tejari portal, making it the largest online business enabler of its kind in the region.
Pointing to the potential of the new portal, Al Banna said: “Our improved new website will further enhance Tejari’s role as a business matchmaker through our online exhibition and trading packages, which will provide added value to each and every member. The improved portal will also help buyer organizations to save large amounts of money by giving them the ability to locate new suppliers for their buying requirements.”
Tejari chose GITEX, the premier IT exhibition of the Middle East, to exhibit its new web portal because the popular event offers an ideal platform to expand the B2B leaders reach and provide the users with an opportunity to test drive the powerful features before launching it in November.
