Volkswagen Middle East announces new appointments in regional sales and training divisions

Volkswagen Middle East has announced new appointments to two senior management posts in both sales and training divisions; Stefan Timmermann as Regional Sales Director and William Belair as Regional Training Manager, effective immediately.
The appointments come after Volkswagen announced steady sales figures for 2009, regionally and globally. Both Stefan and William have over 10 years experience from their previous roles in both Germany and the Middle East and are key assets for Volkswagen’s strategic sales push and dealer development process within the region.
Stefan Timmermann started his career at a Volkswagen subsidiary in Hannover, Germany, working across several departments and gaining a background in International Sales and After-Sales training and management for Volkswagen and AUDI. Following this, he moved to the role of Deputy Finance Director at Audi Volkswagen Middle East in Dubai. Appointed as the new Regional Sales Director at Volkswagen Middle East, Stefan will focus on driving consistent sales growth as well as supporting Volkswagen partners across the region, promoting the brand through professional sales techniques and long-term customer relationships.
Having held several positions in the sales field in mid 1990s, William Belair has been appointed as the new Regional Training Manager at Volkswagen Middle East. He will be responsible for developing and implementing the Volkswagen sales training strategy for the Middle East as well as certifying all sales personnel and Brand Managers through the Sales Excellence Training, implementing the extensive training schedule for all Volkswagen partners in the region. William has been with Volkswagen Middle East since 2006 acting as Regional Sales Manager following his role as Volkswagen and Porsche Brand Manager in Kuwait.
Volkswagen Middle East recently completed its fourth year in the region with firm growth in key markets across the Middle East, despite the economic downturn. During 2009, led by Stefan Mecha, Managing Director of Volkswagen Middle East, an extensive push was made to deliver stronger sales support and service across all lines. The appointments come as the next stage of that strategic plan. The Tiguan achieved the strongest growth over the year with a 49% increase, representing 16% of total sales.
2009 also saw the launch of the third generation Scirocco, sixth generation Golf and the new Golf GTI in Middle East, which all contributed in boosting the sales performance of the company.
