Emirates has been named the world's Best Medium Haul Airline by readers of Business Traveler, the UK business travel magazine, the Khaleej Times reported Sunday.

According to the Dubai-based paper, the readers of the magazine voted for Emirates the winner ahead of British Airways and Singapore Airlines.

Emirates' Group Managing-Director Maurice Flanagan collected the award from the Princess Royal at an awards luncheon at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

Free chauffeur rides, a young and modern fleet, high standards of on-board products and services and the Skywards frequent flyer program were in Emirates favor, he said.

Meanwhile, Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced that the emirate's participation in the recently concluded Top Resa exhibition in Deauville, France, was an outstanding success.

DTCM Director-General Khalid was quoted by the daily as saying that “our promotions in France have been on target and we are happy with the response from the French and European travel trade community.”

He added “they we were present in large numbers at our stand, conducting business and networking with the Dubai team throughout the three-day event.” – Albawaba.com
