Wahooo! Waterpark, the Middle East’s first-ever temperature controlled, indoor/outdoor waterpark, also home to the Middle East’s first surf training academy, has now launched the world’s first Fishpipe ride ever to be installed in a waterpark for guests to experience.
Wahooo! waterpark’s visitors can now experience the Fishpipe -- the world’s first Rotating Barrel Ride – a new and unique type of water ride where riders slide for a longer duration than on the longest water-slide in the world. The ride consists of an inflatable Fishpipe barrel. The barrel is added with 75 litres (20 gallons) of water and then spun at up to 45 revolutions per minute (although it can also be slowed down for kids and those with nervous dispositions.) The water makes it so slippery inside that riders don’t get spun around, but stay sliding in the water at the bottom of the barrel.

The Fishpipe ride, of which there are only 5 existing in the world, was acquired by Wahooo! from the New Zealand-based inventors of ‘zorbing.’ David Ackers, inventor of the Fishpipe ride, has had more than 12 years experience in the adventure activity and amusement ride industry in the areas of design, research and development, operations, training, safety testing, and site design and build. As inventor of the Fishpipe ride, he is the only person (so far) to have stayed running inside The Fishpipe without falling over for the full duration of its spin cycle (90 seconds at 45 RPM).
When guests visit Wahooo! waterpark next, they will be welcome to experience the Fishpipe ride for an additional BD 1.5 only. Waterpark opening hours are from 10 am – 10 pm, 7 days a week. Guests are requested to inquire with Guest Services for the Fishpipe operating hours.
