Municipality workers, less fortunate citizens and charity volunteers of Fujairah joined the staff of Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort today, as a lavish Iftar buffet was served to all on Tuesday, 25 September.

In an effort to promote a social initiative that Le Méridien Al Aqah is very passionate about, hotel representatives called on several community members who work effortlessly day and night in maintaining the city of Fujairah, to recognize their effort into contributing to the beautification, maintenance, and welfare of others on the East Coast.

Le Méridien Al Aqah has been a long standing advocate of corporate social responsibility (CSR), as they’ve had extensive experience in engaging in a beach clean up strategy several times and have always affirmed their position as a driver for an opportunity in contributing towards the social and environmental issues of the day.  Not only has this become Al Aqah’s own social contract, but also a personal responsibility service promoting responsible business practices.

By raising public awareness, Le Méridien Al Aqah hopes to show what can be accomplished through new working methods in order to establish CSR cooperation between the business world and society.  “We continue to build a culture that’s focused on raising our commitment to further aid the local community,” said Mr. Patrick Antaki, General Manager.  “The essence of a gathering like this is to combine the innovations of the business world, the passion and humanity of the non-profit world and the networked culture of the digital world to generate awareness, highlight excellence and express gratitude.”

The Iftar buffet was served to 30 people including various Fujairah citizens, and was joined by all the staff from Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.
