Watani announced today that its Al Mutahida campaign, organised commemorate the values and principles of the unity on the 38th anniversary of UAE National Day in 2009, will now be a continuous initiative.
Mr Ahmed Al Mansoori, Director General of Watani said “Al Mutahida” had become a spontaneous vote of confidence to the principles of unity that binds the people of the UAE. The campaign received strong participation from all segments of the UAE society. More than 2 million symbolic post cards, confirming commitment to UAE’s values of unity and vision for development, were sent by the people of the UAE to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President & Prime Minister; and the Members of the Supreme Council.
In an event to thank the supporters and volunteers who participated in organizing the campaign across the UAE. Watani also recognized the effort of Emirates Post for its vital role in the campaign, as well as Tashkeel and the Emirates Association for Fine Arts, and Dubai Mall who were responsible for organizing and hosting Al Mutahida Art exhibition .
Mr. Al Mansoori said ”the campaign provided an opportunity for the people of the UAE to express and celebrate the values that binds them together, locals, residents, government and rulers. This tells us that more need to be done to give people the space to express the unique relationship that binds them”. The initiatives that will continue the objectives of Al Mutahida will be announced soon by Watani and are expected to elaborate on the different values that made the UAE and raise awareness about it for the new generation.
