Wataniya Airways, Kuwait's premium service airline, began today scheduled services to the Italian Capital, Rome, with an inaugural flight from Sheikh Saad Terminal to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Fiumiciano Airport.
To celebrate the event, Wataniya Airways transformed Sheikh Saad Terminal into a celebration venue, wrapping the building in Wataniya Airways and Italian flags and recreating the Roman atmosphere in the exclusive Wataniya Airways terminal. Guests flying to Rome were welcomed at the terminal by Wataniya Airways hosts and were invited to attend the inaugural flight celebrations in the First Class Lounge. Guests were offered Italian style refreshments and canapés.
The launch was attended by H. E. Enrico Granara, the Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, Abdulsalam Al Bahr, Wataniya Airways Chairman and Managing Director, George Cooper, the airline's CEO, and senior members of the Wataniya Airways executive management team.

Apart from being a world centre of heritage and culture and one of the world's most attractive and popular tourist destinations, Rome has excellent connections to other parts of Europe for onward travel and I am sure that our new scheduled services will prove to be popular for tourists and business guests alike."
Dubbed as the "Eternal City", Rome is Wataniya Airways' twelfth destination and the company's third European city, following the launch of regular flights to Istanbul early May and Vienna at the beginning of June. The premium service carrier will run two weekly scheduled flights to Rome, on Mondays and Fridays. All flights will be from Wataniya Airways' exclusive Sheikh Saad Terminal to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Fiumiciano Airport, with convenient daytime departures and arrivals.
