E-Vision, which is part of Etisalat and the leading cable TV provider in the region today, announced a treat for sporting fans by announcing its intention to showcase live from MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Welterweight boxing fight between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Sugar Shane Mosley.
The fight will be telecast live on May 2nd, on the E-View channel 210 at 5am UAE time. To subscribe, customers can call 101 or 800101. They can also catch replays of the fight at 10am, 3pm and 8pm.
According to Kamal Nassif, Manager, Pay Per View at E-Vision, “A boxing match between Mayweather and Mosley will be a real treat for all boxing fans in the UAE. Bringing live action from such global sporting events reinforces our commitment to bringing the best in sports for the benefit of our viewers in the UAE.”
Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) is thought of by many as the best boxer of this era, and has earned titles in several different weight classes. Following a brief semi-retirement in 2008, he returned to the sport in a dominant win against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2009. Now, his next challenge is Shane Mosley.
Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) is a welterweight mega-star and five-time world champion. He currently holds the WBA Welterweight best. He spent much of the early 2000s dominating the welterweight division, as well as taking on opponents in the junior middleweight class; earning both the WBC and WBA junior middleweight titles. In 2008 he scored a stirring last second knockout of former two-division world champion Ricardo Mayorga, to set up his 2009 fight against WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, in which earned Mosley his sixth world title, the WBA World Welterweight Championship in a dominating knockout win.
Both have been in long rest and then coming to their first big fight on May 2, 5am, UAE time. Mayweather will have one of the toughest opponent facing, Shane Mosley.  This is the second boxing match broadcast of the year through ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) on E-Vision’s pay-per-view channel.
