A Palestinian press freedoms watchdog on Sunday accused Israeli forces of targeting a number of Palestinian journalists across the occupied West Bank in recent clashes.
The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms, known as MADA, said in a statement that it "condemns the Israeli violations against Palestinian journalists," and urged the international community to pressure Israel's government to prevent such incidents.
Most recently, the statement pointed to the targeting of a reporter for the Lebanon-based al-Mayadeen TV channel in the East Jerusalem village of Issawiya on Sunday.
Hana Mahamid was shot in the face with a stun grenade while covering clashes there, despite wearing a flak-jacket clearly marked 'PRESS.'
MADA said that on Saturday Israeli forces targeted an Awda TV correspondent, Ahmad Barahme, shooting him with a tear gas canister that hit his right leg while he was covering clashes near the illegal Israeli settlement of Beit El.
The statement said that Filisteen Al-Yaum correspondent Amoun Al-Sheikh suffered excessive tear gas inhalation in the same clashes.
A day earlier, MADA said that a freelance photojournalist, Ahmad Hasan, was shot in the right leg by an "Israeli sniper" while covering the weekly demonstration in Kafr Qaddum.
According to the statement, hospital staff were unable to extract the bullet from his leg for a full day after he was shot.
In addition to condemning Israel's actions, MADA also urged Palestinian journalists to abide by safety rules "in this dangerous situation."
The Palestinian Red Crescent documented at least 96 Palestinians who were wounded by live rounds or rubber-coated steel bullets in clashes with Israeli forces and settlers over the weekend.
The clashes continued into Monday, with a Palestinian teen killed in clashes in Tulkarem overnight and a 13-year-old boy killed in Aida refugee camp near Bethlehem on Monday afternoon.
