Shoppers were surprised and delighted this weekend, when the fun and excitement of the Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship raced into the Villagio mall in Doha.
Visitors to the mall had the chance to meet some of the stars of the event, and could even get their picture taken holding the Championship Trophy.
As part of the show, people could climb aboard a special display of one of the advanced motorcycles, to take a competitor’s eye view of the race, and were given a special set of Motorcycling giveaways.
This year’s Endurance World Championship event in Qatar is eagerly anticipated, with thirty points are up for grabs for victory and fierce competition expected from favourites the Qatar Endurance Racing Team and the Yamaha Austria Racing Team.
Qtel is the title sponsor of the Championship, which is set to take place at Losail International Circuit from Thursday 12 November through to Saturday 14 November.
Fans can attend any of the free training sessions on Thursday, the qualifying rounds on Friday, and the final event on Saturday. Three-day grandstand passes are available, as well as special paddock passes. All bikers in Qatar can attend the event for free, with their bike, and will be provided with paddock passes and special parking.
The company’s sponsorship strategy looks to support all sports in Qatar that have a strong emotional connection with the community, and, given the popularity of car and bike racing, this new agreement is set to strike a chord.
