Western Union® launches domestic money transfer service in Yemen

Western Union Financial Services Inc., a worldwide leader in money transfer services, today announced the launch of domestic money transfer services in Yemen. With more than 180 Agent locations at key locations across the country, people can now send and receive money to and from family, friends and businesses within the country in minutes* via the Western Union Money Transfer® service.

Transfer fees start from US$5 for transactions up to US$1,000 and US$8 for transaction between US$1,000 and US$2,000*.

“We have already successfully introduced the domestic service in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which has proved hugely beneficial to both nationals and expatriates alike” said Mr. Jean Claude Farah, Regional Vice President of Western Union for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
