Al Aan’s daily news program “Al Laila” met last night with “Farah” the 12 years old student in its episode about the social networking sites in which “Farah” represented the internet culture generation which is a huge world full of information that never ends.
“Farah” exposed her experience with the internet in her interview with “Heba Al Ghamrawi”, which was an extreme experience that almost drove her to the addiction limit since she was spending more than 8 hours a day on browsing the internet and chat rooms. She explains: “My shyness from facing the real world and the society led me to this world and to creating the name and personality that I always dreamt of. It also gave me the freedom to expose my ideas and thoughts without caring about the other side’s reaction.”
The reason behind choosing such a topic in “Al Laila” was the extent in which the dilemma of fearing to communicate with the outside world and seeking protection behind the internet communication has spread during the last years. “Farah” and a lot more like her are facing such a dilemma due to the absence of the parents and their busyness with their work as well as bad friends and a lot more reasons that all of us should spot the lights on to be able to solve such critical problem.
