There has been no decision yet on whether US President Bill Clinton will attend the Middle East summit in Egypt, a spokesman said Saturday.
Spokesman Elliot Diringer said the White House was "encouraged" by news that a summit was to take place but added "the White House cannot yet confirm President Clinton's attendance."
A decision was likely later Saturday following additional consultations.
Diringer said White House officials have been in touch with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and "were encouraged by what he said" about the impending summit – WASHINGTON (AFP)
