ALBAWABA - A Harvard-educated awarded physician and a Pro-Palestine Jewish activist, Jill Stein stepped in for the presidential race under the Green Party, defying the two-party system that has dominated the United States for decades.

Jill Stein, the Green Party's candidate for president of the United States in the 2024 election, was previously the party's candidate in 2012 and 2016. In 2002 and 2010, she ran for governor of Massachusetts as the Green-Rainbow Party candidate.

Stein is one of few women who have stood for President of the United States, and she was one of the few to win more than a million votes in the main election, trailing only Hillary Clinton and Jo Jorgensen.

Growing dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party's stance on social and environmental issues led Jill Stein to join the Green Party in 2002.

She was on the platform committee of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. She believed her efforts were disregarded despite her advocacy for social justice and environmental policy.

In 2012, Jill Stein ran as the Green Party's presidential candidate. The Green New Deal, Medicare for All, free higher education, the end of wars and occupations, and climate action were all promoted throughout her campaign.

Jill Stein's stance on the Palestinian cause

Jill Stein previously advocated for a stop to all foreign aid to Israel, accusing it of committing war crimes. Her campaign backed the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, arguing Israel's practices are equivalent to apartheid and illegal settlements.

She has also openly questioned US backing for Israel, claiming that it facilitates the Israeli government's worst actions.

Stein has always vocalized her opposition to the actions of the Israeli and zionist entities, emphasizing the importance of separating between the principles of Judaism and Zionism.

In an interview with the Palestine Chronicle, Stein was asked about her advocacy for Palestinian liberation and Jewish solidarity with Gaza, she said: "The issue has never been a conflict of religions; the issue is a matter of Zionism, which is a political ideology basically dedicated to moving people off their, land and claiming it".
