ALBAWABA- In a diplomatic escalation, Sudan has declared 15 UAE embassy staff persona non grata, directing them to leave the country within 48 hours.
The decision comes in the wake of public accusations made by Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta on November 28, where Abu Dhabi is allegedly accused of supporting the Rapid Support Forces in their confrontation with the Sudanese military.
Sudanese media reports suggest that Khartoum's decision is directly linked to accusations against Abu Dhabi for aligning with the Rapid Support Forces, led by Mohamed Dagalo, against Army Commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan.
In response, the UAE government has officially notified the Sudanese Ambassador in Abu Dhabi, Abdel Rahman Sharfi, that the military attache and his deputy, as well as the cultural attache, are unwelcome and must depart within 48 hours.
