Leah Rabin, widow of assassinated Israeli prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, has written an open letter to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to embrace peace, reported the Jerusalem Post.

In the letter, published in the New York Times, Rabin compares Arafat and Barak to late Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and late Israeli prime minister Menahim Begin.

She, in her letter, reminds Arafat of his "warm embrace of her during the nation's most difficult hour following the assassination."

She also called on Arafat not to miss this historic opportunity and to show courage.

Rabin is fighting a battle against cancer and recently was forced to cancel public appearances, said the daily - Albawaba.com
