ALBAWABA - US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, revealed that there's a new “master plan” being organized by mediators and the U.S. for Gaza's postwar reconstruction.
Witkoff said in an interview on CBS' 60 Minutes that the plan for Gaza’s reconstruction will involve Arab and international partners.
The U.S. Special Envoy mentioned that Gaza's reconstruction is estimated at around $50 billion and will include rebuilding infrastructure following the ceasefire deal mediated by the U.S., Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye.
"I think it's going to cost a lot of money," Witkoff outlined in the 60 Minutes interview.
He added, "The estimates are in the $50 billion range. It might be a little bit less, it might be a little bit more. But that’s not a lot of money in that region. You have governments that are going to jump on in."
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner told CBS, "You can’t replace a corrupt government with another corrupt government."

In the interview, Kushner also said that Gaza "looked almost like a 'nuclear bomb' had been set off in that area."
He added, "And then you see these people moving back, and I asked the IDF, "Where are they going?" Like, I'm looking around. These are all ruins. And they said, "Well, they're going back to the areas where their destroyed home was, onto their plot, and they're gonna pitch a tent." And it's very sad, because you think to yourself, they really have nowhere else to go."
