Iraqi resistance fighters fired rocket propelled grenades at a U.S. patrol in a Baghdad suburb Saturday, killing three troops and injuring three others.
Witnesses said a Humvee vehicle was destroyed in the attack, which took place in the Shiite suburb of al-Kamalia, east of Baghdad. They said they saw the bodies of three US troops lying on the road with their faces covered by a sheet.
There was no confirmation from the occupation authority.
Also Saturday, three huge blasts were heard throughout Baghdad, but there was no information about their targets or locations.
