Nine candidates, including one woman, have submitted their application for April 8th presidential election, before Monday midnight, the deadline fixed by the Constitutional Council. According to APS, candidates Abdelaziz Bouteflika and Ali Benflis submitted their application on Sunday, followed by seven others on Monday: El Islah Movement leader, Abdallah Djaballah, the Workers Party (PT) spokeswoman, Louisa Hanoune, "AHD 54" leader, Fawzi Rebaine, Algerian National Front (FNA) leader, Moussa Touati, Rally for Culture and Democracy (RCD) leader, Said Sadi, Ahmed Taleb-Ibrahimi, and former Head of Government Sid Ahmed Ghozali.
