The Secretariat General of Emirates Women Award "EWA" organized a special workshop for the assessors of EWA applications in the headquarters of Dubai Quality Group "DQG". All benchmarks used in the process of selecting the winners from businesswomen and professionals nominated for the award have been reviewed. In its seventh session, several representatives of companies and public and private institutions in the UAE attended the workshop.
Mr. Shawqi Sajwani, EWA's head assessor and the honorary member of DQG's board, indicated that EWA is a meeting platform for businesswomen and professionals from all emirates to share expertise, knowledge and practical experience. Since its launch in 2003, EWA has considerably contributed to showing the brilliant and civilized image of women in the UAE as leaders who can achieve the objectives of their institutions and participate in the sustainable development of the UAE.
"We endeavor to encourage woman to participate in all fields of life and emphasize her role as an actual and effective partner in the society which reflects directly on the public interest of women and society at large." Sajwani added.
Sajwani praised the continuous and vigorous efforts being exerted by the government to create a promising future for Emirati woman and resident woman at large. In this context, he referred to the fact that Emirati woman has occupied prestigious posts in government and private institutions."
It's noteworthy that H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the president of the Department of Civil Aviation and chairman of Dubai Airports Council, is the sponsor of DQG in addition to being the honorary sponsor of EWA.
EWA, one of DQG bodies, has organized a series of introductory workshops on the benchmarks and mechanisms of participation in the EWA in cooperation with several women institutions and businesswomen councils in the entire emirates. These workshops intend to encourage Emirati women and residents to participate to optimize and improve their opportunities at the administrative and professional levels."
EWA focuses on the distinctive contributions of businesswomen and professionals with a view to creating equal opportunities to build a better society and achieve sustainable development. Winners are chosen based on accurate and objective grounds and benchmarks, namely, leadership, future goals, financial performance, achievements on professional and vocational jobs, social participations and contributions and innovation.
