Workshop for promoting energy-saving lamps

Energy Award held today the first workshop of the award in collaboration with Phillips in the conference hall at Dubai Media City.
The workshop is a part of the training programs which will be implemented during the third session of the award 2009.

The lecturers discussed lighting and specialists' concern due to rising demand, as this high level of energy consumption is straining the capacity of power generation. Moreover, it discussed the modern methods used in the lighting field.

The workshop aims to encourage electric companies and organizations which support the energy markets to promote the adoption of energy saving lamps as an alternative and better way of life, in order to preserve the right of future generations of energy, and reducing consumption of the society members according to their needs without waste or reckless in energy sources. However, the provision of electricity service, quality, continuous and reasonable rate for the electricity bills must be guaranteed.

The participants pointed out that it is possible to respond to manufacturers through the development of technologies and products that rely on renewable energy sources, and work collectively with them to get rid of the traditional lighting methods, especially since many consumers want to switch from using these old methods to new ones based on energy-saving.
