Xerox Corporation announced a new black-and-white network laser printer packed with advanced features to help workgroups in companies of all sizes work more efficiently at a price that won’t break the bank.
Starting at USD$899 the Xerox Phaser® 4510 offers features and capabilities normally found in higher priced printers. For instance, Smart Duplex automatically detects pages that only need to be printed on one side, speeding up print time. Another capability, called Personal Print, allows people to download jobs to their own mailbox on the printer’s hard drive and then print them all at once so they don’t get mixed up with co-workers’ documents. With twice the standard memory of the comparably priced Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 4250, a faster 533 MHz processor, and a standard 700-sheet paper capacity, the printer tackles complex print jobs quickly.

The Phaser 4510 is built on the Phaser 4500 printer platform and its automatic installation has users up and running in as few as four mouse clicks.
At speeds up to 45 pages per minute and with a first-page-out time as fast as 8 seconds, the Phaser 4510 is capable of handling the printing needs of a busy office. The printer comes with “smart paper trays” that automatically sense paper size to match the print and a simple paper path to reduce the number of paper jams and job interruptions. When events such as low paper or toner occur, PrintingScout™ warns users with a pop-up message on their PC. Businesses can choose from four Phaser 4510 configurations, from a basic non-network version to a full-featured version that comes with a 500-sheet output stacker and a 40 GB hard drive. The Phaser 4510 offers true 1,200 dpi resolution for sharp text and fine detail and Adobe PostScript 3.
