The Yasalam celebrations, organised by Flash Entertainment, continued with a stunning and varied programme of activity on the Corniche last night on the eve of the first practice races of the Formula One™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
F1™ fans got up close and personal with some of their heroes last night as drivers Robert Kubica (BMW), Christian Klein (BMW) and Viantonio Liuzzi (Force India) visited the F1 Fan Zone™Abu Dhabi, brought to the city by Mubadala. The drivers signed autographs for a large number of fans on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
The F1™ Fan Zone Abu Dhabi has been open since 16 October on Abu Dhabi Corniche and will close on 1 November after the big race. It has become a popular attraction for fans from Abu Dhabi and around the world with a range of entertainment including F1™ car simulators, pit-stop challenges, Scalextrix, a KidZone™, bands and DJs. This weekend the F1 Fan Zone™ will screen all the practice, qualifying and final race of the Formula One™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on big screens and will be a popular place for fans to gather and soak up the atmosphere of the final race of the season.
The free Beats on The Beats concerts, presented by TwoFour54, continued with a full and varied line-up including UAE rock outfit, Beat Antennae, UK dance music pioneers, Soul II Soul, Arabic crowd-pleaser, Mai Hariri and UK band, Above and Beyond. Beats on the Beach continue tonight with Lebanese superstar, Ragheb Alama and Timbaland headlining. Beats on the Beach concludes on Saturday night with famous Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki and the legendary reggae band, The Wailers, performing among others.
