Two rebel leaders died in clashes with the Yemeni army in the north of the country, a government website said on Wednesday. Government forces destroyed weaponry belonging to the Houthi rebels and "inflicted massive losses in terms of casualties and equipment" in Tuesday's clash in the northern Saada province, the website said, according to Reuters.

Houthi leaders Abbas Aaida and Abu Haider died and another commander, Yousif al-Madani, was hurt but escaped, the report added.
