A senior Yemeni army officer was killed in front of his home in Sanaa Saturday, AP reports.
According to AP, two unidentified men opened fire on the officer from a motorcycle. The suspects are thought to be al-Qaeda militants.
Yemen is plagued with violence from Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). AQAP is seen as one of the most deadly al-Qaeda branches and has carried out numerous attacks in Yemen’s capital and beyond.
